With Christmas, just two hops and jumps away, now is the last chance to go shopping art for Christmas. Below, a list of Christmas markets, bazaars and salons in and around Reykjavík and online:
Merry Christmas – at Ásmundarsalur
Merry Christmas is an exhibition with 500 works for sale by 130 artists. In Gryfjan, a graphic workshop will be set up where selected artists will be creating works in print every day during the exhibition period. The exhibition will be open every day from 10:00 to 18:00 until Christmas.
Jólalistaflæði – Christmas market at FLÆÐI
Online store and exhibition at FLÆÐI. Open from 14:00 to 20:00 everyday until the 23rd of December.
Christmas Guests – at Gallery Port
Gallery Port’s Christmas exhibition, featuring works of over 50 artists, will be running until the 24th of December.
Christmas Exhibition – at Museum of Perceptive Art
Christmas sale and open studio at Museum of Perceptive Art until Christmas will be hosted by Freyja Eilíf this year. An overview of works for sale will be published at the website on December 12th and the space will be open for visitors by appointment.
Bye Bye 2020 – at Núllið
The Christmas exhibition ‘Bæ, bæ 2020’ opens at Núllið on Monday the 14th December until the 23rd. Art, design, and objects by various artists will be shown and for sale, in a diverse range of mediums such as print and graphic works, paintings, photographs, fashion design and more. No sales commission will be taken by the gallery, so this is a good opportunity to directly support the Icelandic art scene!
Cinnamon – the Christmas Art Fair of the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists (SÍM)
Over hundreds of artists participate with works of art that will be on display and for sale. The artists participating are members of the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists. Over a hundred members of the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists will be displaying an exciting and interesting variety of works for sale. The Art Fair will be open from 14:00 – 18:00 on every day until Christmas
Living Art Museum’s Light Bazaar – an online art bazaar
An online art bazaar where members of the Living Art Museum sell their works to support the museum. Light Bazaar’s second home is at the Marshall House, where our open storage space allows you to see the works firsthand. There you can also pick up your purchased works but we also offer a free delivery straight to your door.
Christmas Market – at Þula Gallery
This year’s Christmas exhibition at Þula will show works by numerous artists including paintings, prints, drawings, books, and more. The gallery will be open every day from 13:00 to 22:00 until the 23rd of December.
Art 365 – at Reykjanes Art Museum
The exhibition Art 365 contains works by 365 artists. These include works by artists of different disciplines such as visual artists, designers, poets, photographers, filmmakers, to name a few. All these people come from different backgrounds, but they are connected to the Icelandic art scene in one way or another.
