The Icelandic Visual Arts Fund has opened its call for applications for the autumn 2025 allocation round. The application deadline is Monday, August 18 at 4:00 PM (GMT).
The fund supports the development and implementation of projects in the field of visual arts, including artistic creation and research. Grants are awarded to visual artists, curators, art historians, and independent professionals working in the field.
A total of 26 million ISK will be distributed, and results will be announced at the end of September.
Guidance and Support Available
Applicants may receive assistance during the application process. An introductory session for newcomers and online workshops will be offered.

Priority is given to projects that:
Promote international collaboration and the visibility of Icelandic visual art abroad
Emphasise diversity and sustainability in the field of visual arts
Are linked to art festivals or residencies in Iceland or internationally
Involve collaborative research and publications on visual art
Support the implementation of Iceland’s national visual arts policy and the goals of the Visual Arts Council
Group Projects
For projects involving multiple participants, organisers are encouraged to submit a single joint application on behalf of the project. If individual artists choose to submit their own applications, no overall application should be submitted for the entire project.
Previous Grantees
Applicants who have previously received a grant must submit a final report for that project before a new application will be considered.
Grant Amounts and Eligible Costs
Minimum grant: ISK 300,000
Maximum grant: ISK 3,000,000
