Bogna Luiza - bread summer

SÍM Residency, in collaboration with Finnish Cultural Foundation, presents bread summer: a pop-up exhibition at SÍM Gallery by artist-in-residence Bogna Luiza Wiśniewska. As part of the opening on Friday, 27th of September, from 6 pm, guests are invited to gather and feast together on an installation of edible sculptures. The exhibition will run for only one weekend, until September 29th.

bread summer explores the quiet beauty of connection—between soil and bread, friends and moments, clay and touch. Inspired by time spent in the Icelandic landscape, each work reflects a slow, intentional process: bread baked in geothermal soil, formed with patience and care, and shared in good company.

Bogna Luiza Wiśniewska (b.1988, Poland) is a soft-hearted person who lives and works in Helsinki, where she maintains an arts practice that fosters cosy spaces and good company, bringing people together through painting, ceramics, textiles, exhibition-making, installation, cooking, gardening and hosting. Her practice is rooted in care, kindness, fragility, queerness and the exploration of these elements through various mediums.
