Herðubreið og Hólsfjöll
Stefán V. Jónsson (Stórval), Brynhildur Þorgeirsdóttir

Þorgeirsdóttir has been casting the Herðubreið tuya in coloured glass for years. To begin with she used a whitish tone, giving it transparency and depth, but gradually added prime colours for variety. Jónsson, who is known by his artist name Stórval, also had a great fondness for Herðubreið and the mountains of Hólsfjöll. He used the powerful shape of the mountains to express the variations of light and shadow, and evoked his childhood landscape, as those mountains were an integral part of his upbringing.
