Water Never Sleeps
Samsýning / Group Exhibition

The group exhibition Water Never Sleeps explores transformational aspects of water, highlighting artists’ dialogues that consider scientific and environmental issues, along with conceptual, personal, and poetic expressions. Water, in its restlessness, “never sleeps”, referring not only to the changing nature of water––a substance in continual flux––but to a new theoretical fourth phase of water charged with radiant energy, as a trope for how art itself often manifests to reveal unexpected anomalies and phenomena that raise questions and expand possibilities.
Presenting a range of diverse perspectives, the exhibition further brings together reflections and ruminations on water’s role in shaping aspects of ourselves and the world around us. Opening up water’s own inherent mutability, Water Never Sleeps contemplates the intertwined processes and fluctuating interactions that occur in real and imagined realms. Within these fluid moments and non-linear narratives, water shifts form and affects us, transcending boundaries, time, and perception.
